My Classroom Website

8th Grade Physical Science:

My Grant was recently funded from Donorschoose.org.

Welcome to the new website for physical science.  Hopefully, this will be a useful tool to help parents and students.  I will try and keep this as up to date as I can, but know that the students will be using their planners in my room everyday to update and remind them of assignments and assessments.

Every Monday students will fill out their planner for the week and recieve slips telling them what assignments they are missing.  Please check their planners to see if your student is missing anything.

Every Wednesday a Science in the News is due (except on Wednesday's we are working on a huge project ending the topic, I will keep the website updated on when that occurs.)

Every Wednesday they will get a yellow sheet of paper with homework to complete, this is due each Friday.  Again, this will not be given if there is a huge project we are working on.  This is something new I am doing to help parents know what is going on in science and also help students learn better.  As William Glasser stated:

“We Learn . . .
10% of what we read
20% of what we hear
30% of what we see
50% of what we see and hear
70% of what we discuss
80% of what we experience
95% of what we teach others.”

I am hoping this will be the case, if the student teaches you or another family member they will understand it better and learn it at a deeper level.  Thanks for your help and support.
